Gdansk, Poland

Google maps can take you to very unusual places. I felt very lucky to find this spot that got hit with some interesting graffiti in Gdansk, Poland for April's Virtual Paintout.

Virtual Elba

I'm still having problems with the link on google maps for the Virtual Paintout so this one might not show up on that blog. Once of these days I'll get it right again. It would be so fun to actually go to these places each month. Maybe San Diego will get picked one day then I'll be able to paint on location.

Almost a Virtual Paintout

The place is Summit County, Colorado and the challenge was to find a snowy scene through google mapping. After searching around I finally found something interesting to sketch. I did the needed screen shot copy but I forgot to send the google map link to my email which is the second requirement of proof.  Since there's no way of finding the exact same spot on the slopes, this ends up only here and not on the virtual paint out blog for January. Live and learn. :)

Virtual Eureka!

I'm trying out something new.  A Virtual Sketch meet. It's not all new to me since I work virtually during the week but the idea is to pick a spot on the map from the given location and sketch it. If you get a chance, check out the blog called The Virtual Paintout (look down along the side and you'll find it). This months virtual site is Eureka, Ca.  I strolled around on the google map and found this quaint home.

I should have kept it as a ink only sketch since I'm not crazy about the colors I added. Cheap watercolors too; won't be using those again.
